Welcome to the Forest Area Chamber of Commerce.  Located in Scott County in the heart of central Mississippi, Forest is one of the region’s most progressive small towns.  The Chamber of Commerce takes an active role in the continuing effort of ensuring that the Forest/Scott County area remains a growing community with economic stability, thriving business-industry, good schools and affordable housing.  For over a century, our Chamber has worked with business and community leaders to improve the quality of life for everyone, and our goal is to continue to move our community forward in the 21st Century. Forest is known throughout the state for its small town charm, beauty, hospitality and caring people.  Whether you are visiting, new to the area, or an “old timer,” we welcome you!

The Chamber is under the leadership of  president, Jean Cox, and vice-president, Michelle Upton, the board of directors and executive director Allyce Lott.  Cox said she plans a number of new strategies to expand the chamber in encouraging volunteerism in a number of activities.  “The Forest Chamber is a local organization promoting businesses and bringing new things to do in the Forest area,” Cox said.  “If you are a business owner, we want you as a member. If you’re an individual who wants to donate your time to serve on a committee and work with members, we will welcome you.  This year we are rolling out new committees to help promote Scott County.  Be on the lookout for more details soon.”  If you’d like to volunteer to help your community, please contact Allyce Lott at (601)469-4332 or forestareachamber@att.net.

The Chamber has many events throughout the year, including Women’s Luncheon, Excellence in Academics Dinner, Chamber Scholarships, Teacher of the Year Award, Chamber Golf Tournament, Wing Dang Doodle Festival, Christmas Parade, Citizens of the Year Reception and numerous ribbon cuttings for new businesses.  For more information please visit The Forest Chamber of Commerce website listed below.  You can also visit the Wing Dang Doodle Festival website also listed below.
