The City of Forest Fire Department, located at 337 East 2nd Street, provides the citizens of Forest with the highest quality fire protection, emergency medical response, rescue, and extrication services possible. Through extensive training, record keeping, maintenance and diligence, the City of Forest Fire Department is currently rated as a Class 7 with the Mississippi State Rating Bureau.

As a result, this rating offers area residents and business owners lower fire insurance rates for their homes and businesses. As a combination department, the City of Forest Fire Department has a full-time staff of 13 highly qualified and well trained firefighters, which are reinforced with 10 volunteer firefighter. As the only full-time department in Scott County, the City of Forest Fire Department strives to provide its citizens with the most expedient and reliable fire services possible and consistently maintains an average response time of less than five minutes.
