BURN BAN…..

fire department

Currently the City of Forest, along with Scott County as a whole, is under an executive burn ban issued by Governor Bryant. An executive ban has no expiration date and will be in place until the governor, under the advisement of the Mississippi Forestry Commission, declares that extreme fire conditions no longer exist.
Residents should note that any willful violation of this ban is punishable by a fine of not less than $100 and not to exceed $500. Also, property owners who set a fire during this ban may be financially responsible for any property damage that occurs as a result of the unlawful fire.
We have been and will continue to closely monitor any and all burning within the city limits and will strictly enforce the current ban.
